Hello! First of all, could you please introduce yourself and tell us how did you get into production of electronic music? Hi, may name is Forge. Im label owner of Silk Recordings and 1 half of "The Hybridz" For me it was something i always wanted to do when i first heard electronic music. I started off just buying a PC and teaching myself Cubase and how to write music. Within the last few years i have really been getting my ideas down, but before that it was just something i would do when i got sick of mixing records. Currently music is a big part of my life, i pretty much live and breathe it every single day.

You are the owner of a Silk Label. Why you have chosen such name?

Correct, there is no real "Philosophy" behind the name, i just wanted something to represent the smoother more melancholic vibe of the 170bpm spectrum. It was an concept i had for a while before i launched and i think it's really sticking now and people are hearing the "Silk" sound.

What should we wait in the future from your label? Any new names, releases?)

Yes lots of stuff going on. Next single is "Bulb", whom is from Russia. Currently one of our favorite artists and someone that is really pushing boundaries, we will have some bigger projects from him coming up really soon so hold-tight. The Furi Anga CD is due to be released in the 2nd half of 2010 and is shaping up to be our biggest release. There is going to be a remix E.P on vinyl from some of the scenes biggest names and also a limited edition boxset of the CD including T-shirt and various other goodies. Our website is currently still under construction, we will also be launching our merchandise range in conjunction with this. On top of all this we are locking in tracks for our debut compilation CD, which is due in the 2nd half of the year also.

Who has made upon you impression on a dnb scene?

Personally i respect labels like Hospital and Ram etc, on the basis of creating a recognizable brand and really making a big impact on the scene. Musically it's labels like Darkestral,Hyperdub,Night Slugs,Exit and Shogun.

What is the time you spend behind a music writing?

Usually i can get a idea down in one session. Then it may take a few more sessions to get the mix correct and work on the sound design. But currently i make about 2 tunes a week on average.
