Alright, folks. At long last, the next installment of the free Spktrm giveaways has arrived. This one is very special. It’s a tune that is very near to my heart, and has stayed at the front of my dubs folder for over the past year.

I am proud to present you with the original, unaltered mixdown of: “WATERS UNKNOWN”

“Waters Unknown” was composed well over a year ago, and has been on heavy dubplate rotation ever since. The tune has been caned from Michigan to London by some of the best names in Drum & Bass, such as Gridlok, Hive, Loxy and Gein to name a few, and has received exclusive radio play by Ronin Selecta on Bassdrive.com. Once the song had been debuted, it became clear that it was going to be one to make serious waves on the dancefloor. Unfortunately, the arrangement was lost last year due to a massive system meltdown, so the original plans for analog mastering were no longer feasible. This 320kbps MP3 was all that remained. Serious thought was given to simply locking the tune away indefinitely as a permanent dub (the original plan was to release it on Gridlok’s Project 51 Recordings), but when the requests (both personal and public) kept pouring in consistently for it to be released in some capacity, the decision was clear. I hope that all of you receive as much enjoyment as we have from playing this deep, epic and rolling piece.
